Brian and Jackie McCobb
Paraguay
October 28, 2008
It is hard to believe that Jackie and I are getting ready for our first furlough! On September 28, 2003, Jackie and I presented our vision for the first time to a church in Chattanooga, TN. 18 Months later, we were in a plane on our way to the ministry because without Him we can do nothing.
We believe that missions is the work of the church. Whether the church is located in Luque, Paraguay, or Litchfield, NH, that church must be involved in reaching people with the gospel. the month of October is "Missions Month" at our church here in Paraguay. Last Sunday we had a Paraguayan pastor from the other side of the country come and share what God is doing in his church. Next February, their church will be sending a missionary to the nation of Uruguay! What an exciting step! As God continues to call and send missionaries out of Paraguayan churches, we want to be influencing and training those men and women with sound biblical doctrine and methods.
In just a few days, Clint and I will be traveling on a survey trip. We will be taking a number of trips in the next two months with the goal of locating a strategic location for our church plant as well as getting to know local pastors and church leaders. One city of particular interest is on the border of Argentina and Brazil. There are around 45 nations represented in its population. What a unique opportunity! Please be in prayer for these things.
